Both, The Cisco Catalyst 6506 switch and the Cisco Catalyst 6506-E switch have 6-slot horizontal slots and being nummbered from 1 (botton) to 6 (top).

  • Supervisor Engine 32 and Supervisor Engine 720 require that you install the high-speed fan tray.

Both, the Cisco 6503 and the Cisco 6506-E router have two power supply slots on the back of the chassis, with the power supply 1 being installed on the bottom and the optional redundant power supply 2 being installed in the upper of the two slots.
