Notes - MSFC:
MSFC/MSFC2 requires use of PFC/PFC2. FlexWan linecard requires a MSFC/MSFC2.
MSFC/MSFC2's are not addable to a Supervisor 1A-PFC after the fact (as a FRU) since risers are not included. MSFC/MSFC2's are only addable to Supervisor 1A's that previously had a MSFC/MSFC2.
If the MSFC2 is doing full Internet routes and/or MPLS, 512Mb DRAM is required. MSFC (1) does not have enough DRAM to run full Internet routes.
MSFC2's shipped prior to July 1, 2002 shipped with 16MB bootflash.
Release 12.1(13)E includes support for 4,096 VLAN's, but it is not recommended to exceed 2,000.
MSFC2 memory went to 256MB default on August 1, 2004 (previously was 128MB). 512MB is default for Sup2U orders after that same date (previously was 256MB)
